hej, hej til Danmark (I think the rest I should write in English, since my Danish isn't good enough)!

I'm very delighted to see us signing one of your greatest talent! I'm sure that Mikkel will do better than Morten Skoubo cause he's another type of player and has got the help of his 4 Danish fellow countrymen in the case of some integration problems (which I don't think to be happening in MG). I'm also sure that our huge fanship will give him a great support ... as we appreciate players with heart & fighting spirit.

Now a question referring to Mikkel's former position at your club FC Midtjylland: did he play on the striker position or rather behind the strikers (as a playmaker)? I ask you because we already have a good playmaker with the Argentinian international Federico Insua (unfortunately he joined us lately in summer, so he couldn't perform on his best level) and badly need a good striker (especially after Neuville's injury). Do you see Mikel as a striker or rather a midfield player? Do you think he can also be used as a winger?

Hey!

Mikkel played on the right wing (without great success) in his first year in FCM.
Then an injured central midfielder caused that Mikkel was tried on the central midfield. He played great in that match and since then he played on the central midfield just until this season.
Halfway through this season he got competition from Salami, a talented midfielder from Nigeria, and therefore Mikkel was moved forward as a offensive midfielder. Here he got even more success than on the central midfield. In the last 8 games, where he was placed on the offensive midfield, he scored 5 goals and assisted about 4-6 goals, so I think this is his favourite place on the pitch.

Thanx very much for your information. I suppose that Mikkel will be playing between Insua and Sonck or Kahè in Mönchengladbach.

I dont think thats is a great idea, because if you want to get the best abillity from Mikkel he should be placed behind the front striker. As Peter had shown in his beautiful drawing.
Mikkel had played winger in a 4-4-2 system, but maybe your coaches want to use him as a central midtfielder in your system(4-4-3?), not his favourite posistion but his okay there.

I think that Insua (we paid 4.5 million to Boca for him) will remain our playmaker. That means that there are a few options for Mikkel:

1. playing TOGETHER with Insua in the offensive midfield
2. playing in front as a striker
3. playing BETWEEN Insua and Sonck/Kahè
4. playing as a winger in a 4:4:2 or 4:4:3

We'll see...

I suppose it will be a bad idea. Mikkel's forces are his speed, working range, deep runs and his devil-may-care approach, and these forces will not be used in the best way, if he is placed as a winger in 4-3-3. His best place on the pitch is as the offensive midfielder just behind the attacker(s), from where he can make his deep runs that can split the opponents defence. From there he also can use his working range the best, both when he is making a pressure on the opponents defence and when he is making chances for your team.

Mikkel said in this week that he was promised to play on the offensiv midtfield after a meeting with your coach. But he will defintly not play as a striker. Unless he is set to play a "Hanging striker", a little behind the front striker.


But I hope that Mikkel soon will show you what a great player he is. And that he will get a succesful career in your club.

Well, I also feel convinced that Mikkel Thygesen won't have any problems being integrated, and I'm sure he'll soon be enjoying a lot of succes in Germany og Gladbach.

Ja det kunne da være lidt sjovt at se tror bare ikke vi finder noget, har lige været inde at tjekke på deres hjemmeside, den seneste nyhed de har er at de har købt thyge og så et interview.
